This youth hostel is great！！The receptionist, Avy, speaks Chinese and gave us a lot of free travel advice, including information about public transportation. She was especially warm and patient.

I have nothing to complain about. I had read on the comments that there reception was closed outside working hours so I called in advance to ensure a late check in. They gave me all the indications to access my room even if I arrived at midnight. The room is clean and the bathroom too. The shower is really good. Also the common kitchen area is very clean. It has kind of a hostel-for-grown-ups feeling and I liked it! Of course it’s a little run down in some parts but you cannot really complain for the price you pay! It’s so central too, right by the station.

I was skeptical when I booked, but this place really took me by surprise! A great price and definitely worth the money for the location and convenience. Had a super pleasant stay here, no issues with a late check in time and felt very comfortable the entire time. Security is good and the rooms have everything you need besides a kitchen! Definitely exceeded my expectations and I’m super happy with Akara Perth. A little hidden gem that’s right in the middle of Perth’s city. A great choice for my first time here!

Great hostel with nice staff. Good kitchen with plenty of fridges to store your own food, rooms are clean and beds are usually quite comfy. They’ve just put AC in all the rooms. However price doesn’t vary from 4 man room to a 10 man room, it’s the same price which doesn’t make much sense. Lots of toilets as well as shower room with lockable door instead of shared bathrooms. Would recommend, especially if you are French or Italian as there’s many here.

I liked this backpackers, it's always nice when the receptionist welcomes you with a smile. Another staff member saw me carrying a lot of stuff and asked if I needed help. Having kind helpfull staff makes all the difference.

That was great and cleaner than I expected . Pretty much everything in the room, except kitchen. This hostel isn’t typical party hostel. I reckon everyone would stay there without stress. I’d love to stay here again if I’ve got chance.
